Highland Baking to open $9.48m bread production facility
Highland Baking Company, a wholesale bread baking company based in Chicago, US, plans to invest $9.48m to open a new bread production and distribution facility in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
The new facility will enable the company to have additional capacity and also improve efficiencies. To establish the plant, the company bought 250,000 ft² plant from Mrs. Smith's bakery. The investment is expected to create 196 new jobs over the next five years.
Highland Baking Company vice president Stuart Rosen said the company is looking forward to open the new facility in South Carolina.
"This is an important step in our company's growth. Spartanburg County is a great fit for our business and offers a business-friendly climate and excellent market access," Rosen added.
Highland Baking specializes in producing customised bread products for national restaurant chains.
